Te Arawa Holdings has income rights from Crown Forest Licenses, maturing in 2044. In addition, Te Arawa Holdings is a shareholder in Kākano Whakatipu, an iwi collective of six central North Island iwi, which purchased a 2.5% stake in Kāingaroa Timberlands, the largest forestry business in Aotearoa.

At nearly 180,000 hectares, the Kāingaroa forest estate is considered one of the world’s foremost softwood plantations.
